What is the difference between a normal bed and a hex? Also what is a sun capsule, a brand of tanning bed?

Hex and Suncapsules are tanning BOOTHS, not beds. They are stand up units. You have to stand up to tan, not lie down. Both are good quality units but not tanning beds per se. For home use, a tanning booth is usually a bit of overkill. From my experience, about 10% of the commercial tanning systems are booths, while 90% are beds. It is likely due to the majority of people wanting to relax when they tan.

Another difference I have seen is that people are more likely to prefer a booth over a tanning bed in metro areas, and more so in the western USA than eastern. This is more an observation rather than hard research, but based on observations over a decade.
